Jesus spoke to me and this is what He said...

   On May 2nd, 2∅26 the most incredible thing happened and I want to share it with you...

   Followers of Christ we often pray, and there are many ways to do that! Bowed heads and closed eyes, hands clasped tight, just thoughts (yes, He hears those), through tears in the dark, while driving (eyes open obviously lol) while singing, or reading the bible, or the way I'm always inclined to do...rambling, yapping, complaining, chatting, however you choose to label it, its just me talking to a friend.

 

Without further adieu,

Jesus spoke to me and here's what He said...

 

   I'd been praying, just talking to Jesus in the dark for the around 30 minutes which had felt more like an hour. If you know me personally at all, you know I've dealt with having ADHD, MDD, and PMDD since I was born, a young girl and puberty, respectively. So, you'd know that I have bouts of deep sadness and and ungovernable emotional pain. This, was one of those times.

   Eyes closed, laying in the dark with a cold rag over my eyes because of a migraine. I was just asking Him dumb questions like "what's Your favorite food?" "Did You know Your siblings gender before they were born?" "What was Your favorite color here on Earth?!" "Did You get lonely?" Or "did You ever feel like I do?" and "did You cry?"

   And then I started to sob and told Him I'm so sorry He died the way He did and asked Him if He wanted to give up and go Home? From earth and could I go Home? I long for a Place my soul remembers but my human brain cannot. I wanted to be done. "I'm so sad all the time," I thought. "Will this cycle of longing for things I can't obtain ever end?" In my frustration, I said "answer at least one of those questions, just one." It was a plea for companionship, for this relationship with Him to not feel one-sided. Truthfully, I was kind of not expecting anything. Kind of just amusing myself. But then...

 

 Behind my closed lids, I saw the color teal...

 

 Teal. Dark teal! His favorite color was TEAL! I asked "like the ocean?" and immediately thought, "No, the sea...The Sea of Galilee!"

I grabbed my phone and frantically googled "the Sea of Galilee" the first image to appear was this..

 

Jesus just told me His favorite color was teal like the Sea of Galilee!!!

He hears us when we cry out to Him. He listens and He answers in ways that are so specifically personal to us.

  He also answered the questions, Did He want to go Home, and did He cry? And I know He did! An image of Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane, begging His Father to let this fate pass from Him. Have you ever screamed or cried so hard you got strawberry marks on your neck or face? And if you have, you know you were crying the hardest you've ever cried and it couldn't possibly get more strenuous than that, right? Right? Well, Jesus was so distressed praying and crying in the garden that God sent Him an angel to comfort Him and still He sweated BLOOD! (Luke 22) That is insane to think about. I think we tend to forget that Jesus was fully human along with being God. He felt sorrow so deep He thought he might die from it. (Mark 14:34 & Matt. 26:38)

 As an artist I LOVE color and as a chronically depressed person I know sorrow. He knows that, He made me after all. He answered those questions because He knew how seen it would make me feel. 

You can choose to believe me or not but I will be holding this answer close to my heart until the day I meet Him in Heaven.

By His Stripes We Are Healed....?

As per usual, this one is going to be controversial, but hear me out and keep your hope intact!

We're all familiar with the quote, "by His stripes we are healed" on the surface this seems foolproof, self explanatory, that because Jesus was whipped, we can be healed from our physical ailments...right?

Not quite... lets take a closer look by zooming out and reading the surrounding scripture! (oxymoronic, I know)

 

So, now that we've read the scripture, we see that in both passages, the authors are detailing Jesus' sacrifice for our souls. He is the bridge between us and God, the Father. He came so that we might have the opportunity to accept salvation for our souls from Hell! He came to heal our souls. Not our fleshly bodies. Lets break it down further...

   These verses are often used when one of us is physically or mentally ill. And while God CAN, of course heal any of our physical or mental health issues, these verses are very often misused. The are not talking about physical healing at all, and telling people who are suffering from physical and mental illnesses that they are promised healing in these verses is severely misleading and damaging. 

   

   This is a prime example of false prophesying. It's hard to hear, I know, but its the truth. It's not an intentional blunder, most people assume these verses are applicable to physical healing but as we've seen, and now know, the sacrifice of Jesus was for our sins and souls!

   This post is NOT meant to be discouraging, its meant to bring awareness to how easy it is for even seasoned Christians, elders of the church and pastors to misinterpret the Word of God. 

   Now, just for fun, here's the same verses in the New Living Translation...

even here, we see that it is clearly about soul healing! and Thank You Jesus for it!

   

   Rest assured, friends, God can heal our bodies, and He often does! He made us all individual and with unique genetic makeups, and He knows exactly what we need. He hears our prayers and pleas for help and healing...

   Finally, I want to reassure you that although these passages (Isaiah 53 & 1 Peter 2:24) aren't talking about physical healing, there are plenty of verses that do! I've collected a few of them for you down below! so next time you or a friend needs an encouraging passage on healing, use one of these in the correct context! 😇
